Our Troop

Established in 2022

Troop TX-0521 was chartered by The Crossroads Community Church in July 2022.

In January 2022, the senior pastor of The Crossroads Community Church announced that the church was going to host a Trail Life troop. A small handful of families came to the orientation meeting, some with the intention to only learn about the program. By the end of that short meeting, everyone in attendance had committed to being the core leadership team of this new troop.

The next six months consisted of prayer, not only by the core leadership team but also by the entire congregation. On July 22, 2022, the charter for Troop TX-0521 was established.

However, prayer has not ceased. To this day, we pray constantly for God’s blessing upon this troop; for wisdom on how to lead well; to seek his guidance, and to help us raise these boys into godly men.

We are continuing to grow, both in numbers and in our relationship with God.

Our first troop meeting was September 4, 2022, with over 21 youth in attendance. By the end of that program year, we had grown to 28.

We started our second year with 38.

This is now our fourth year, and things do not appear to be slowing down. Praise the Lord!

May God be greatly glorified in this troop.

Meet Our Leadership Team

Troopmaster

Scott Bergener

Scott Bergener

Ranger

Scott is a lover of God, family, country, and the outdoors. Inculcating these values into his son (and three daughters) drives all his efforts as the spiritual leader of his family. He knows that Trail Life is the vehicle to do the same for other trailmen.

Aaron Wilson

Trailmaster

Aaron is a husband, dad, and U.S. Navy veteran, with a background in construction and small business ownership. He enjoys working with his hands, exploring new hobbies, and spending time outdoors in God’s creation.

Serving in Trail Life gives him an opportunity to invest in the next generation and help young men grow in faith, character, and confidence — becoming problem-solvers who use creativity and teamwork to overcome challenges.

Kyle Daley

Troop Ministry Liaison / Chaplain

Kyle loves to see kids learn about Jesus and dive deeper into scripture. He is not an outdoors guy; but since his two sons are active Trailmen, he is eagerly trying to enjoy it more.
